Online Media Cultist

Web producer, writer, online media cultist. That's how I roll.

Huge story that (somewhat) slipped under radar?

I’m continuing to enjoy using FriendFeed a little while back:

Just added my posterous rss feed to FriendFeed. Blog + posterous + Google Reader shared + Twitter –> FriendFeed is a very nice way to round out a social media presence I’d say.

I’m guessing this ReadWriteWeb piece slipped through the cracks for many people, but I find it to be very interesting stuff:

Posterous co-founder Gary Tan just announced that they’ve acquired fellow Y-Combinator company Slinkset – a Digg / Reddit-style news site with voting capabilities. Says Tan in his blog post, “Slinkset will remain online, and we’ll be working on some crazy awesome stuff to bring the power of Slinkset’s technology and community to your Posterous experience.”

As Posterous uses Slinkset to add social and community features to its very solid platform, it may have the potential to rival FriendFeed and perhaps even WordPress and other mainstream blogging platforms.

One Posterous feature that I would love to see: ability to share stories in Google Reader and have them appear in Posterous.
