The inauguration gets interactive-like
As a big fan of both technology and politics, it’s always fun to see how the two worlds interplay.
This “interactive graphic” from the Financial Times is cool to play with, as it “profiles the new players in Washington and shows their connections – whether through Capitol Hill, Chicago, university, or the Clinton administration.”

Unfortunately I can’t embed it so you’ll have to click over to check it out. By toggling between “connections” such Capitol Hill and Clintonites, associated names float to the center of the presidential seal. Hovering over individual names then tell you a little bit about the person and the political faction that they hail from.
Tomorrow’s historic inauguration will also see a new level of social media interaction and online coverage of events. Here’s a quick primer from Now Public called 5 Best Ways to Watch the Obama Inauguration Online. For example, the YouTube inauguration channel is jammed packed with video content already, including this call to service from Kal Penn of Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle fame, no less!
