The desperate desire to "go viral"

It’s Friday, time for some hilarity (or an attempt in that direction, at the least) to get us ready for the weekend.

In this case, it’s Jack Black, Robert Downey, Jr., and Ben Stiller cooking up a “viral video” to promote their new movie, Tropic Thunder.

I probably have the mentality of a 12-year-old when it comes to comedy, but I think this clip is pretty great.

Key line: Because it’s more viral, it’s grainer.

On a slightly more serious note, this is a wonderful parody of companies trying to “get viral” to attract those wacky Internet masses to buy their products.

In reality, “viral” is a myth. Viral simply means that people like something and willingly pass it on to friends. Viral = good content, which can’t be faked or manipulated.
