Older stories are pushed off the front page but you can always set a custom view. Publisher/submitter/author counts are based on the number of stories in the system; not the number of times their stories have been shared.

Looks like stories are ranked by the number of shares - do stories more than 24 hours old drop out of the default view? And how do publishers and submitters gain authority/rank (the number in parentheses)?

Consider RSSmeme(http://www.rssmeme.com/) as well. Similar to ReadBurner but with support for search, tags, and feeds for absolutely anything (search/tags/authors/sources/etc, they all have their own feed).

I actually gave ReadBurner my index of feeds for them to use (although I’m not sure they are using it yet).

It also supports a FeedBurner Feedflare and Widget to put right in your blog how many shares each story has gotten.

My most recent improvement was support for building your own personal RSSmeme by using your FriendFeed friend list.
