Just look at what happened to Bush BFF Karl Rove. Otherwise, the job is a political junkie's dream. Nothing to do all day but write quippy blurbs and cavort with presidential gadflys. The political blogosphere is a rough-and-tumble place. It's hard to imagine a White House blogger fitting in very easily into that mix, though it would be a lot of fun to see he/she/they try ! Edwards campaign that was raked over the coals by the right wing blogs. I just mean to say that political blogging is a rough place :) I imagine an "official" political blogger would have a huge target on their back, no matter what party affiliation...
