Elton John Wants to Shut Down the Internet
It’s always interesting to hear what celebrities and politicians have to say about things that are… outside of their milieu, shall we put it?
While Sir Elton John admitted to the UK’s The Sun that “I am the biggest technophobe of all time,” the famous musician went on to say that he would like to shut down the Internet because, “I’m sure, as far as music goes, it would be far more interesting than it is today.”
This is my favorite quote though:
Let’s get out in the streets and march and protest instead of sitting at home and blogging.
Why does everyone need to be hating on the bloggers?
What did we do to kill the music?

This… was not one of the more brilliant things said by a modern musical icon.

Where is that darn “off” button for the internet anyway?
I’m pretty sure it was “can you feel the love tonight” that actually killed music.

Argh, now I’ve got that song stuck in my head !
How do I turn that off, I ask you

Ah sorry man. The only solution I have is to either quickly find another song to listen to or beat your head against your desk for half an hour.

I’m thinking this particular situation requires the latter solution, thanks !

Perhaps Sir Elton was just in a bit of a bitchy mood for lack of a hit song in a decade or so. I’m sure everyone is getting those Elton albums, they’re just not paying. That, or the kids are all mind numbed robots brainwashed so as not to be able to properly appreciate the genius of his modern work by the evil internet thingy. Somehow, that sounds like a Flaming Lips song trying to write itself.
Or there is the alternate possibility that Elton can’t sell a new album now is because they suck donkey nads. Can’t really blame the Pajamahadeen for that.

Didn’t he write Reg Strikes Back? A word in fricken Spanish and other classics? Tsk, tsk, tsk - Always blaming others. Such a drama queen. And don’t get me going on Phil Collins.
Anyway, remember he was the one who claimed America was racist because Jennifer Hudson was booted off American Idol.
It’s ok, Elton, we’ll always have Tumbleweed Connection.

Al, at the same time Elton is making a bundle off online sales of this back catalog!
Hilarious Alessandro! And what has Phil Collins been up to?
