That's a nice blog post. I was fortunate to have a podcast with Daniel over the phone and I asked him pretty much what you have here. He confessed that The Economist was a bit late in embracing the media of blogs, podcasts, etc. but he reasoned that it is better to be late than to be the first one and zoom off in the wrong direction.
